Step-by-Step Instructions for Getting to Mines from DIA via Public Transportation
- Board the A Line at DIA
Location: Follow signs for “Ground Transportation” to the Denver Airport Transit Center, located on Level 1 at the south end of the Jeppesen Terminal.
Fare: Purchase an Airport Day Pass for $10.00. This pass covers your entire trip, including all transfers to other rail lines and local buses for the rest of the day.
Direction: Board the University of Colorado A Line bound for Union Station. - Transfer at Union Station
Arrival: Get off at the final stop, Denver Union Station.
Transfer: Walk approximately one block from the commuter rail tracks to the light rail platforms.
Direction: Board the W Line bound for the Jefferson County Government Center–Golden Station. - Final Connection to Campus/Golden
Once you arrive at the Jefferson County Government Center–Golden Station (the last stop on the W Line), you have several options to reach the School of Mines campus:- Ore Cart Shuttle (Tungsten Route): This is a free shuttle that links the W Line station directly to downtown Golden and the Mines campus. Graduate Student Travel Awards
Travel award notifications will be sent out by March 8th. Each NRT that submitted a nomination will receive a travel award for one (1) trainee. All travel awardees should be sure to register.
Nomination: By completing the NRT Annual Meeting 2026 Travel Award form, PIs may nominate one (1) graduate student per NRT project to be considered for a travel award of $500 to $1000 (depending on the number of applicants) to help support their in-person attendance and participation at the NRT Annual Meeting.
Awards: We anticipate making at least 20 travel awards of an amount between $500-$1000. The final award amount will depend on the number of applications received. Awardees will be selected to maximize student attendance while ensuring balanced and diverse participation in terms of research topic, institutional type, geographic location, discipline, and degree program.
Eligibility: Nominated graduate students must be
- the sole nominee for the nominating NRT project
- currently enrolled in a NRT-affiliated graduate program
- a currently active participant in the nominating NRT project
- intending to attend the meeting in person
- intending to present a poster on their NRT research
Each NRT project team attending the meeting in person may include a total of no more than two presenting graduate students per project, where one is a recipient of a travel award, if exists, and the other is not. Additional virtual graduate students may provide an image, narrated presentation, etc. of their posters provided that they are currently active NRT trainees. Media Upload Form
